We are on the search for a Technical Solutions Engineer- Utility.
Position Overview:
This position will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s presence in the utility applications market. The post-holder will be responsible for understanding the unique requirements of utility-scale solar projects and providing technical expertise to support customers in maximizing the performance and efficiency of the company’s solar inverter solutions and wider product offerings.
This will include managing day-to-day tasks concerning project feasibility assessments, designing large-scale solar power systems, supervising installation and operations of utility-scale PV plants.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with internal teams to understand product specifications and capabilities, ensuring alignment with utility application requirements
· Lead the development and implementation of technical solutions for utility-scale solar projects in Europe, working closely with all stakeholders to ensure alignment with the company
· Conduct product feasibility assessments and follow through coordination with project stakeholders
· Provide technical utility advice and guidance to customers and partners during the pre-sales and post-sales phases, including system design and troubleshooting
· Make recommendations on the most suitable utility product solutions based on applicable grid codes and project requirements
· Oversee the installation, commissioning and operation of utility-scale PV
· Keep abreast of grid interconnection requirements and utility regulations
· Work closely with the wider European Service team to ensure grid code compliance and customer satisfaction, providing technical expertise and support as needed
· Develop technical documentation, application notes, and training materials to educate customers and internal stakeholders on utility application best practices
· Coordinate necessary resources to manage technical partners- ensuring close collaboration
· Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to utility-scale solar power generation
· Act as a liaison between customers, engineering teams, product management, and technical aftersales to communicate customer requirements and drive product enhancements
· Participate in industry conferences, workshops, and customer meetings to promote products and solutions
· Mentor and provide technical leadership to regional solution managers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
Key Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
· Proven technical leadership experience in the solar energy industry, with a focus on utility-scale applications, ground-mount solar energy projects
· Must have demonstrated experience in providing technical solutions, application advisory, or product management of solar power technology and equipment
· Strong understanding of utility solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, and power electronics
· Experience with utility interconnection requirements, grid codes, and regulatory standards in Europe
· Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., PVSyst, PV*SOL) and CAD tools for system design and grid analysis
· Experience in conducting project feasibility assessments
· Knowledge of utility-scale PV installation and operation
· Ability to analyse and interpret technical data and reports
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
· Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
