AD Energy US is proud to be working with a leading client to find an experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee the operations of multiple renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities across New York.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing operational contracts, regulatory reporting, budgeting, maintenance oversight, and performance optimization. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge and proven success managing utility-scale operations in the energy or environmental sectors.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $140k – $170k

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including budgets, maintenance (scheduled/unscheduled), gas nominations, and compliance reporting.

• Monitor and report on performance metrics, including environmental credits and regulatory submissions.

• Lead health and safety practices across all sites, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.

• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth transition to steady-state operations.

• Maintain high uptime and operational efficiency through proactive issue resolution with internal staff and third-party contractors.

• Build and manage a high-performing team of plant operators and technicians.

• Serve as the primary liaison for external stakeholders, including technology providers, utility companies, regulators, and suppliers.

• Manage spare parts inventory and operational procurement.

• Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and development of operations personnel.

• Participate in corporate safety programs and training.

• Travel to RNG facilities on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.

• 10–15 years of operational leadership in biogas, landfill gas, wastewater, RNG, or natural gas environments.

• Proven track record managing facilities with equipment such as gas compressors and cleanup systems.

• Proficiency with engineering documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, mechanical/electrical drawings).

• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and environmental reporting.

• Knowledge of emissions credit programs such as RIN, LCFS, or Carbon Intensity scoring.

• Experience working in complex stakeholder environments, including permitting and public/private partnerships.

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

• Must be adaptable, self-directed, and collaborative.

• Willingness to travel as needed.

• Experience with anaerobic digesters, wastewater treatment, or agricultural operations is an asset.
