Position: RNG Plant Manager
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our dairy manure site in St Albans, Vermont. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with basic electrical and instrumentation skills, coupled with hands-on experience in plant management. This role also requires competency in budgeting and financial oversight to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plant Operations Management:
· Oversee daily operations of the RNG plant, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
· Monitor and optimize the performance of the plant’s systems and processes.
· Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure reliable operation.
· Technical Expertise:
· Utilize basic electrical and instrumentation skills to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
· Supervise and support the technical team in maintaining and upgrading plant systems.
· Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
· Financial Management:
· Develop and manage the plant’s budget, including operating expenses, capital expenditures, and revenue forecasting.
· Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
· Prepare regular financial reports and present findings to senior management.
· Compliance and Reporting:
· Ensure the plant complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and financial activities.
· Prepare and submit required regulatory and environmental reports.
· Team Leadership:
· Lead, mentor, and train plant personnel to achieve operational excellence.
· Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
· Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff scheduling.
· Stakeholder Engagement:
· Coordinate with dairy farm operators to ensure a steady supply of feedstock.
· Liaise with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders.
· Represent the plant in community outreach and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Education and Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management, or Supervisor preferably in renewable energy or waste-to-energy operations.
· Proven experience with basic electrical and instrumentation tasks.
· Technical Skills:
· Hands-on experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
· Financial Acumen:
· Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management.
· Proficiency in using XL Spreadsheets.
· Soft Skills:
· Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
