We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the mechanical and electrical maintenance needs of our renewable energy facility.
The salary set out for this position is $30 – $40 / hour.
This facility processes dairy manure to produce biogas and upgrades it into pipeline-quality Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). The technician will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on a wide range of equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the plant.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on pumps, motors, compressors, separators, electrical panels, PLCs, valves, and related biogas equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, diagnosing root causes and performing necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Maintain and update maintenance logs, inspection reports, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) records.
• Assist with instrumentation calibration, sensor verification, and minor PLC troubleshooting.
• Support the operation team during start-ups, shutdowns, and emergency response events.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized repairs or services when necessary.
• Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance support.
• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance, preferably in a biogas, wastewater, or similar process facility.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, gearboxes, piping), and electrical systems (e.g., control panels, motors, wiring).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, and automated control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
• Willingness to work in outdoor and agricultural environments, including around livestock manure.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., work on ladders, and perform tasks in confined spaces or at height.
• Experience in anaerobic digestion or renewable natural gas production.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
• Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and confined space entry training.
• OSHA 10/30 certification.
• On-call availability required for emergency maintenance
• Occasional weekends or holidays depending on operational needs
