AD Energy Recruitment is partnering with a leading waste-to-energy and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) platform focused on converting organic waste streams into low-carbon energy solutions. The organisation is playing a key role in decarbonisation through the production of renewable electricity and biomethane, supporting both grid injection and industrial applications.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to take ownership of maintenance and reliability across a high-performing RNG facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this individual will lead all maintenance operations, driving equipment reliability, asset performance, and a strong safety culture across the site.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in process-driven industrial environments and is motivated to build scalable systems, optimise uptime, and develop high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
• Lead day-to-day maintenance operations to maximise plant uptime and reliability
• Develop and implement a structured Preventative Maintenance (PM) programme
• Build and optimise CMMS systems covering work orders, spare parts, and documentation
• Establish and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes
• Define and execute long-term maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle planning
• Manage overhaul cycles, including shutdown planning, vendor coordination, and cost control
• Develop lubrication strategies and maintenance best practices across plant systems
• Track and improve KPIs including equipment availability and planned maintenance metrics
Operational Excellence
• Standardise maintenance workflows and develop SOPs to support scalable operations
• Build and develop a high-performing maintenance team, including training frameworks and competency matrices
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations
Health, Safety & Compliance
• Champion a safety-first culture across all maintenance activities
• Ensure full compliance with EHS regulations and life-saving procedures (LOTO, confined space, hot work, working at height, lifting operations)
• Embed compliance requirements into maintenance planning and CMMS systems
Financial & Performance Management
• Own and manage the maintenance budget, including spare parts and contractor spend
• Support P&L reviews and forecasting, ensuring cost-effective maintenance execution
• Optimise resource allocation and vendor performance
Candidate Profile
• 5+ years of leadership experience within industrial, process, or energy environments (RNG, biogas, wastewater, chemical, or similar)
• Strong background in maintenance and reliability engineering principles
• Experience implementing and managing CMMS and/or ERP systems
• Demonstrated ability to improve plant performance, uptime, and team capability
• Engineering or technical degree preferred
