The successful candidate will be actively involved in all aspects of engineering and operational activities. This employee will report directly to the management team.
This position will focus on working in the field, with company equipment, on completions, drilling, midstream and production sites for multiple oil and gas companies in the multiple basins, including the Marcellus, Utica, Permian, Delaware and Haynesville. In addition to field work, this position will be involved in applications engineering and project planning including making real-time assessments and adjustments to project plans and engineering designs to maximize system performance.
Working in the oil & gas field is extremely challenging and therefore an unrelenting focus on working safely in all activities is paramount. With a customer-centric focus, Field Engineers must possess a strong desire to learn, a strong capacity for attention to detail and must possess the desire to gain the knowledge and ability to assist in accurately diagnosing operational issues as well as aid in implementing solutions.
The client’s schedule is driven by their customers and the desire to provide outstanding customer service. This will require at times long and unpredictable working hours including during nights, weekends and holidays. Travel to the SW operating region will be required.
Responsibilities:
· Work with Operations, Engineering and Shared Services teams on design, set-up, operation, performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various gas process equipment to maximize performance and results
· Participate in Engineering rotation, travelling to SW operating region for 1-week at a time
· Work with technicians and sub-contractors in the field to implement plans
· Work with vendors to spec out and purchase equipment as needed
· Assist in development of various job aides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
· Assist in the development of various inspection reports
· Keep track of various technical documents including material test reports, relief valve sizing calculations, NDE reports, and pressure test documentation
· Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
· Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence
· Regular and predictable attendance
· Assist field techs in commissioning, decommissioning and troubleshooting customer jobs
· Operate company vehicle
· Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline relevant to the gas industry from an ABET-accredited school is required
· 0-2 years of experience in gas field operations/engineering preferred
· Willingness to learn how to operate and maintain various gas field process equipment, including pressure control devices, line heaters, gas meters, gas compression units, filtration vessels, and remote monitoring equipment
· Ability to pass customer, company, and regulatory safety and operator qualification programs
· Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
· Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s and other construction and fabrication drawings
· Required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to being hired
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
· Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimum supervision
· Basic computer skills of MS Office, operating systems, company software, some PLC and HMI controls
· Basic math skills (algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Good verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
· Must be self-directed and possess the ability to perform duties with little to no supervision

Occasionally required to:
· Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· Stand/walk for long periods of time without a break
· Remain seated in a normal position for up to half the workday
· Work in low-lit areas
Miscellaneous:
· Must be available to work all shifts and schedules
· Will be required to work in all climate conditions
· Depending upon the location and workload, travel may be required
· Will be required to participate and qualify for a variety of safety training programs
· This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing
