My client is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Their closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related “value-added” products.
Funded by institutional capital partners, and currently have 20+ projects operating and in development in over 13 states. They have a plan to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.
The Commissioning Technician has the overall responsibility for providing assurance of the construction sites meeting specifications and requirements of the projects. These team members may be required to oversee multiple projects across a state.
Responsibilities:
• Lead successful execution of the commissioning plan, plant startup strategy,
• performance acceptance tests, and handover from construction team to operations team
• Maintain site safety during project commissioning
• Execute a project specific commissioning plan for each project.
• Provide integration support between key contracting scopes.
• Support in execution and maintenance of project master schedule.
• Ensure execution of the contractors’ commissioning, start-up and performance testing plan to ensure quality delivery of the contractual commitments.
• Support engineering, construction, and operations teams in project commissioning, pre-planning, execution, documentation, and handover.
• Oversee project completion milestone progress & deliverables.
• Build positive relationships with site operations team and contractors.
• Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer’s data and execute projects based upon that documentation.
• Consistent and on-time attendance
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
• 2 years of construction, commissioning, and/or operations experience
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety laws and best practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Advanced analytical skills to address problems, identify root causes, and generate potential
• Possess excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
• Basic ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects at once.
• Understanding of procurement process & management.
• Basic understanding of contract language
• Globally aware of how what we do fits into the bigger picture.
• Experience in commissioning means & methods, particularly with electrical and/or instrumentation and control system commissioning
• Drawing & specification reading.
• Understanding of biogas plant equipment and systems, including safe operating practices
• Flexible work hours while in the field, which can be extensive.
