AD Energy is working with our RNG client who are looking to add to their busy team in Pittsburgh PA. The Capital Procurement Specialist works with the group Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, Vendors and Customers to ensure a cross-functional implementation of materials management and contracts management processes are utilized and leveraged to successfully execute and implement projects for the company, including but not limited to, all aspects of Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Upgrading plant and equipment design, construction, fabrication, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning. In addition to being commercially capable and detail-oriented, the successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, time management and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget with minimal surprises.
An unrelenting focus on the customer is paramount including the ability to listen to, understand and solve customer and project problems comprehensively and cost-effectively, think strategically about company value proposition and engage in project implementations and contracts throughout the lifecycle of a project to ensure customer satisfaction and service levels are second to none. This individual will coordinate directly on a daily basis with the Project Management, Engineering, Project Controls, Construction Management, and administrative departments within the Company to ensure projects are successful throughout all phases of execution, development, budget and schedule. This position reports to the Director of Capital Project Procurement.
Salary: $135,000 – $150,000
Responsibilities
- The Capital Procurement Specialist directs, controls and co-ordinates the procurement of engineering/ construction services, equipment and materials for the project obtaining optimum performances with regards to cost, technical requirements, and quality to satisfy the project
- Responsible for drafting/coordinating/compiling Materials Management and Contracts Management strategies and plans as well as the Procurement section of the Project Execution Plan
- Responsible for implementing all procurement processes including logistics and expediting as well as establishing procedures and templates to be used on the project
- Provides inputs for Project reporting as required
- Verifies and ensures integrity of the entire procurement lifecycle, validates that all activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant procedures, and maintains sound business practices in an ethical manner
- Foresees potential problems, slippage or delays and pro-actively implements corrective measures to resolve the issues or mitigates the impact there of
- Plans, controls and monitors procurement activities in accordance with the approved project schedule
- Provide project direction utilizing the procurement strategy, lead the solicitation of quotations, assist project teams with analysing proposals, ensuring completion of project risk assessments, and negotiating project price, delivery, and terms for complex and specialized materials, equipment, and services
- Support management and commercial teams with execution of sourcing strategies to achieve business goals while driving continuous improvement
- Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, Operations, and all other related functions with focus on on-time delivery, quality, cost reduction, inventory management & appropriate translation of customer and/or business unit requirements
Qualifications
- 7 years of procurement experience with 3 years of leading sourcing projects
- Extensive experience in the capital project environment with engineered equipment and construction
- .Related training or experience with contracts is required.
- Experience with drafting of commercial terms and conditions and an understanding of accompanying legal implications
- Proficient negotiation skills
- Excellent understanding of procurement processes which include both materials and contracts management and corporate governance principles
- Knowledge and understanding of quality systems, environmental, health and safety regulations, expediting techniques and Incoterms applications
- Experience and understanding of contracting and purchasing strategies
- Experience in dispute resolution techniques and their applications
- Experience with vendor management including purchase order issuance, execution, and administration
- Knowledge of Biogas/RNG marketplace a plus
- Ability to pass customer, company, and regulatory safety qualification programs
- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
- Required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to being hired
