Job Description

AD Energy are seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to take full operational ownership of a flagship large-scale organic waste processing and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility—the first of its kind in North America to integrate carbon capture technology directly into an RNG operation.

Location: York, Ontario, Canada

Employment Type: Full-time | Site-based

The Opportunity

This is a high-profile, site-based leadership role at the forefront of the energy transition. The facility sets a new benchmark for low-carbon RNG infrastructure and will serve as a reference site for future developments across North America.

As Operations Manager, you will have end-to-end accountability for operations, safety, people leadership, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and financial performance. You will lead both Process and Maintenance teams, driving operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement within a highly regulated, industrial environment.

Mission

You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of this pioneering RNG and carbon capture facility, ensuring performance targets are met while continuously improving uptime, efficiency, and asset reliability. Acting as the senior site leader, you will set the operational culture, champion safety and environmental stewardship, and ensure the plant consistently delivers against its commercial, sustainability, and decarbonisation objectives.

• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Monitor and trend safety and environmental performance metrics
Actively promote a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors

Financial & Commercial Management

Collaborate with Finance to develop and manage the site’s annual operating budget
Track performance against financial targets and implement corrective actions where required
Oversee contract and vendor management
Identify and pursue commercial improvement opportunities

Reporting & Governance

Provide regular operational, financial, and compliance reporting to senior leadership
