AD Energy US is seeking a results-driven RNG Plant Operations Manager to direct and coordinate capital improvement initiatives and daily plant functions at the RNG facility.

The role emphasizes operational consistency, equipment reliability, and unwavering safety compliance. This leadership role is key in delivering operational targets and supporting the General Manager by freeing up their capacity for business growth, commercial strategy, and development projects.

This is a consolidated role encompassing oversight formerly divided among five separate positions: Renewable Gas Lead, Digestate Operations Supervisor, Capital Projects Coordinator, Facility Manager, and Maintenance Manager.

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: On-site presence required Monday through Friday.

Compensation: $140,000 – $180,000 annually + 15% performance-based bonus target

RNG Plant Operations Manager Key Responsibilities

Below is a breakdown of the key responsibilities for this role:

Plant Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day activities across all plant departments, including material intake, anaerobic digestion, gas processing, shipping, and pre-treatment.

Address operational disruptions quickly, applying both short-term fixes and long-term solutions.

Drive performance improvement by optimizing throughput, reducing downtime, and minimizing resource loss.

Safety Leadership

Enforce and enhance plant-wide safety protocols, ensuring a zero-incident culture.

Deliver training sessions and conduct regular safety evaluations for all team members.

Align safety practices with company-wide standards and regulatory frameworks.

Maintenance Strategy Execution

Lead the maintenance function, including scheduling, troubleshooting, and infrastructure upgrades.

Employ predictive and preventive maintenance practices using a CMMS platform to maintain accurate asset and maintenance records.

Develop inventory strategies for critical spares to ensure operational readiness.

Capital Projects & Infrastructure Development

Manage the planning and implementation of key infrastructure projects, including facility expansions like depackaging and digestion systems.

Oversee contractor coordination, project milestones, and ensure site safety throughout construction phases.

Feedstock and Material Management

Execute and monitor daily feedstock plans to meet quality and volume targets.

Optimize the receiving process and enforce quality assurance protocols for incoming materials.

Team Development & Coaching

Lead training initiatives to develop workforce capabilities.

Provide consistent performance feedback and set clear individual development goals.

Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Communication and Reporting

Compile and present operational metrics and updates to executive leadership.

Chair daily operational briefings with cross-functional teams.

Budget Management (Operations Focused)

Track and manage plant operational expenditures to stay within financial parameters.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising output or safety.

Process Optimization

Drive a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging lean methodologies and Kaizen events to enhance productivity and eliminate inefficiencies.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Automation preferred).

Experience: At least 10 years in industrial or infrastructure project leadership, including handling budgets over $1M.

Safety Competence: In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and proactive safety management.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, including technical and operational staff.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automated systems, process controls, and maintenance best practices.

Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated track record in leading operational excellence and cost-efficiency initiatives.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

Desk-based work with extensive use of computers.

Regular walking and standing required across the facility.

Light lifting up to 15 lbs may be required.

Ability to travel within the site and occasionally to supplier locations.

Effective verbal and written communication is essential.
