Job Description

 

As an Experienced Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and layouts for both transmission and distribution lines. Utilising PLS-CADD and AutoCAD, you will support the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions for various industrial and utility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed designs and layouts for transmission and distribution lines using PLS-CADD and AutoCAD software.

• Interpret and incorporate project specifications, standards, and requirements into design plans.

• Conduct system analyses to optimize performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient design flow.

• Conduct site visits and assessments as needed to gather essential data for design development.

• Prepare technical drawings, plan and profile views, and construction documents.

• Perform quality assurance checks on drawings and layouts to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and technologies impacting transmission and distribution line design.

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers and drafters.

• Ensure designs are in compliance with safety regulations and best practices.

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, adhering to schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing transmission and distribution lines.

• Proficiency in PLS-CADD and AutoCAD software is a must.

• Strong understanding of engineering principles and standards related to transmission and distribution line design.

• Experience with industrial and utility projects including conducting site surveys.

• Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Strong communication skills to effectively convey design concepts and collaborate with team members.

• Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

• Possession of relevant industry certifications is a plus.
