This vacancy will go up to the senior level. The ideal candidate will have past experience in Automotive Diesel calibration or component testing with an appreciation of software and control strategies. Ideally with at least 5 years experience within an Automotive tier 1, OEM or consultancy. This vacancy offers the opportunity to work on future projects within a well-established Automotive business based in the West Midlands. There is also a very competitive package available.
Responsibilities:
- Calibration (chassis dynos or in-house engine dynos)
- System analysis, e.g. system specification, life estimation, capacity.
- Pre-development, e.g. demonstration engine planning/implementation of control system logic development
- Performance evaluation of the system to ensure the system meets customer requirements
- Customer interaction
Requirements:
- Good PC-based analysis using Matlab/Simulink (desirable to have experience of modelling or scripting)
- Strong knowledge of Diesel engine fundamentals
- Proven experience in Electro-mechanical system development
- Diesel component calibration/development within automotive
- Track record of delivering projects
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of engine combustion/engine control
- Clear thinker and a good communicator
- Good at logical analysis and problem-solving
- Good degree or equivalent in mechanical, automotive or electronics
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
