AD Energy US is happy to be partnering with a top client within the energy space to recruit a Commissioning Manager, providing a fantastic opportunity at a leading company in the sector.

This is a remote USA role with potential for up 50% travel.

About the Company:

A national leader in environmental services and the development of food and dairy waste-to-renewable energy projects. This organisation builds, owns, and operates on-farm anaerobic digestion facilities and is scaling through a national expansion of its Farm platform. The company is committed to decarbonization by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, generating renewable energy, and supporting regenerative agriculture.

Position Summary:

The Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing safe, optimal, and environmentally sound commissioning activities of renewable energy projects. This role requires oversight of multiple project sites, coordination with contractors, and collaboration with operations and construction teams to ensure smooth project start-up and handoff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all commissioning activities meet safety, environmental, and quality standards.

• Develop project-specific commissioning plans.

• Manage and coordinate with General Contractors.

• Maintain and oversee the Master Project Schedule.

• Collaborate with Construction Managers on cost control, forecasting, and financial oversight.

• Oversee pre-planning, milestone progress, and deliverables.

• Foster strong relationships with contractors and farm partners.

• Interpret and manage project plans, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Oversee training of operations staff during facility startup.

• Drive execution of commissioning and start-up strategies.

• Facilitate transition from construction to operations.

• Support integration between key contract scopes.

• Document and participate in design revisions and continuous improvements.

• Ensure contractor commissioning and performance testing plans meet contract requirements.

• Develop and refine standard operating procedures for new facilities.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations to enhance process design and safety.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, commissioning, and/or project development.

• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

• Experience with scheduling, contract compliance, and change management.

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Experience in project planning and multi-project coordination.

• Familiarity with procurement and contract processes.

• Understanding of construction methods, equipment, and blueprint reading.

• Flexibility with fieldwork hours and travel schedules.

• Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with construction, automation, and operational work types.
